Whiteboard Tip.

One saturday back in august our area of the neighborhood had a HUGE garage sale supposedly they do it every year and its called "The Mother of All Garage Sales"....there had to be over 100 garage sales on that saturday in our area of town.
It. was. Awesome.

So of course i didn't get to all of them but we got to a lot of them!
Found lots of great stuff and great prices.
Including this little beauty below.....

Only thing was that it had the most stubborn marker on it that wouldn't come off.

I must be the only one that didn't know that the trick to get off is
Nail Polish Remover!

Who woulda thought?
Well not me!

Good as new!

And ready for hours of fun!

Dinner

I made THIS last night.
I never really knew how much i loved sweet and sour chicken and fried rice until i made it
(for the first time)
Probably the best dinner I've made All year long!
No joke.
This is definitely going on the repeat list.
I certainly won the dinner war with this one - because even my 3 year old loved it!
What tasty dinner recipes have you tried lately?

Sticky Bun Breakfast Recipe

I don't know why i haven't made this recipe sooner.
It is SO good!
In NO way healthy at all.
Pure deliciousness....is that a word?
This may have to be a holiday tradition over here for sure.

Anyways i'm babbling.
Want to know how i made it?
Of course you do!
silly question!

Here we go!
Go ahead and start by pre-heating your oven to 375

First grab you bundt pan.
Ok so i have been wanting one of these for a loooooong time!
you don't even know how long! years long.
Its kind of sad.
but i didn't want to pay a lot for it.
$4.00 beauty below.
boo-ya!
Go ahead and spray your pan first.

I love this pan!

Here are the Ingredients you need:
Butter
Brown sugar
syrup
cinnamon
1 package of grands buttermilk biscuits.

Oh and almonds if you like them!

Next go ahead and melt your butter.

Measure out 1/2 cup of syrup
Next you want to combine your melted butter and your syrup together.

Go ahead and combine your almonds,
brown sugar
and cinnamon

Pour half the butter and syrup mixture in the bottom of your pan

Sprinkle half of your cinnamon mixture on top of that.

Then place your biscuits in the pan.

I cut mine in half but you don't have too.

Then sprinkle the rest of your cinnamon mixture and your melted butter mixture on top of the biscuits.
Bake at 375 for 25 minutes or until the biscuits are done.

And then it's done!
Let it cool about 5 minutes

And then flip it over onto a plate.

Yum.Yum.

Enjoy!

New Look

Hi again!
Today's subject = Sewing with patterns.
I don't often sew with patterns...i actually don't own very many...it's probably less than 10...well maybe that is a lot, haha!

Anyways i wanted to sew Hailey something to wear during the summer.....umm i mean the warmer days here in Washington...i have yet to see "real" summer temps here.

So i picked up this New Look sewing pattern and gave it whirl.
I actually really like this pattern but i know when i make it again I'll probably add my own little twist to it.

Anyways........
Here's how it turned out...pretty darn cute if i do say so!

What is a new outfit without a matching headband?

What new patterns have you tried lately?

Cute Little Baby Blanket

Just a quick little blanket tutorial.
This one i  really enjoyed making and i have no doubt that i'll be making a few more.
I love that it's simple
 colorful
 soft
 and cute.
Oh i already can't wait to make another one!
What I Used:
White Fabric cut 30"x40"
White piece of flannel cut 30"x40"
Light blue minky Fabric cut 30"x40"
A bunch of 4" triangles cut in fabric of your choice.
Blanket Binding
Thread
Scissors
Of course a sewing machine ;)

Fist i cut a bunch of 4" triangles

And then i cut out a 30" by 40" piece of white fabric.
I played with different ways i wanted the triangles to look on the blanket.

Once i decided then I pinned them down in place.

And zig-zag sewed them down.

Next i took my white flannel and my light blue minky fabric and layered them on top of each other and cut them 30" by 40" -same size as my first piece.

Then I placed them all on top of each other as seen below and pinned all the layers together

So that i could sew across the top of the triangles.
Do you see the white stitching that the arrow is pointing to?
Starting at one end you'll sew all the way across the top of the triangles.

Next i took my blanket binding or you can use bias tape i have a tutorial to make your own HERE!

I pinned down one side at a time and mitered one corner at a time.
If you've never mitered before here is a great tutorial
Once I sewed binding all the way around I was done!
I just cut off the extra little threads.

Beautiful!
There are a few things i would do differently next time like using matching thread on the binding (which i had and didn't know!)
Ahhh so many possibilities for this cute little blanket!
I think i'll be whipping up a few more!
