When it is raining it means a lot of indoor time, but it doesn't always have to be boring! Recently i did this quick and easy little activity for Hailey to help keep her busy on one of those particularly long and rainy days.
For me it was a win-win activity not only did she have fun But it also helped her improve her counting and color matching! YAY!
This by far has to be one of the easiest projects to make!
There's not much to do to make this project. I printed out and laminated these pictures that i found online, Here is the link where i got the pictures (thank you Tasha!)

Anyways i had some pom poms and magnets
Glued a little piece of the magnet to the pom pom...this was kind of the tedious part...lol
Once i finished that i put the activity sheet on a cookie sheet
The excitement is building...she can't wait!
Read, Set Go!
Magnets stick to the cookie sheet...i LOVE it!
She loves it too!
One rainy day activity down....here's to hoping the sun wants to come back and visit us!
Have fun!
Love the pictures! :) Great idea too. Miss you guys!
ReplyDeleteWOW! This is by far the best indoor activity I have ever seen!! How creative to use the cookie pan!!! Thank you for sharing this fabulous project!!

Such a cute idea, my 2 year old (and prob even my 4 year old for a short while) will love this! I'm curious, what type of glue did you use to glue the magnets to the pom-poms? In the past when I tried to glue velcro to pom-pom's, I couldn't get them to stick? Thanks so much!
ReplyDeleteThanks for a great idea! It looks like this is the link to the post with the printables. http://engagingtoddleractivities.wordpress.com/2010/12/06/homemade-toy-magnetic-pompoms/

ReplyDeleteHas anyone found out where to find the number template and the seven continents? I can't find them :( tank you, such great ideas!
ReplyDeleteI can't find them either, that rainbow is different on that website too. I like the one shown because it only has 9 red pom poms the other has 16 I think that is too many. Help
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteLove this idea! The trays have a Montessori type learning feel to them. I'm going to pin this to my Montessori board. Your daughter is stinkin' cute by the way.

I just saw this post on the Creative Ideas from Moms board on Pinterest. I will have to try it with our four two year-old toddlers. It looks like so much fun (and a great learning tool for colors). Please come by and link this to Artsy Play Wednesday (and then we will link it to the new Artsy Play Wednesday Pinterest Board which has over 780 followers so far).

This is great! And using the magnets with laminated paper for multiple uses -- really good idea!
ReplyDeleteHi, these are fantastic! Would you consider selling a set of them? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteFound your awesome idea on pinterest! I am ready to get this started, but I wonder what size of paper did you use? It looks like it may be longer than a 8 1/2"X11".
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing!!!
Hi! This is a great idea! Just a quick question. Did you have any issues with the magnets sticking together then falling off the pom pom's? What type of glue did you use? Thanks!

ReplyDeleteHi. I didn't see the activity with the touch math in the links (or I didn't look through the website thoroughly. Can I have a copy of that sheet? Thanks!
