Minnie Mouse Miracle

This year when i asked Hailey what she wanted to be for Halloween she said
Minnie Mouse.
No  hesitation.
Wow i felt like i should have known that!

The Minnie Mouse ears are thrifted.
I made the red bow.
We will be adding black tights and shoes to the outfit as well.

The skirt is just a simple gathered skirt
made with probably 10ish yards of tulle.

And worth every yard!
Look how cute and poufy it turned out!

The top i made up my own pattern.
I was a little nervous.
But how else am i going to learn?

Let's just say this is her new favorite dress to wear

Every.

Single.

Day.

And I Love it!
Oh and it's great for dancing and twirling in.
That's a must when mommy's making it!
What are you kids going to be for Halloween?

  1. That is too cute and without the ears it would make an awesome Christmas dress too.

My daughter and I were Minnies couple of years back, my son was Mickey then. That was super fun!
We don't celebrate Halloween in Croatia, but we do enjoy dressing up during Carnival season, actually, we dress up A LOT ;)

I'm featuring costumes from the party this week, and would love to feature yours :) Thanks for sharing! http://www.hubbymademe.com/throwback-thursday-no-15/

  18. I just love this!! My daughter was Minnie Mouse last year for Halloween - I bought her costume at the Disney Store (on sale:) ) but it wasn't half as adorable as your handmade one!! I just love it!! This year I am making her a little chicken costume - I just hate the quality of the store brand stuff and how expensive they are!! Happy Halloween:)

    1. I agree that store bought costumes have gone downhill over the years! And nothing is cuter than a handmade costume! Your little chicken costume sounds so cute!!

  19. Did you sew the ribbon on the bottom of the tulle? Silly question I know but I'm striking out when it comes to sewing an overskirt with tulle. I have a mermaid costume 1/2 made and am praying it comes out alright!

  21. Soooo sweet and adorable girl. GREAT model to perform the dress. Her pose with "toes up" against the wall just pretty and sweet.

  22. Zipper back? Buttons? I was just wondering if you have to dress her--or she can slip it on on her own? It is VERY cute....do you do tutorials? I would love one for the bodice, it is TOO cute and I could see it having a LOT of uses for dress up dresses!

  23. That's so stinkin' cute! My 1 year old is going as Wonder Woman and I made her a big poofy tulle skirt. Nothing's cuter than a little girl prancing around in their girly costumes. I love the trim on the tulle!
