Thanksgiving Craft

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving!
One of my Very favorite holiday's!
I really thought this month i would be able to be more crafty with Hailey i even did some pinning on my Pinterst 'Thanksgiving' board.
Oh well i can try again next year!

The other day i helped her make this cute little turkey.
I think this would even be a fun craft on Thanksgiving if you have all the supplies which aren't much!

We already had all the supplies so it was super simple.
Construction Paper
Toilet paper roll
Google eyes
Feathers
Glue

First we cut out some brown paper to glue around the toilet paper roll

She did a a great job cutting out feathers.

Because i had them around we added some feathers to it as well.
Glued those to the back of the paper roll.

Don't forget the eyes!
Beak
and those dancing feet!

Victory!

Here's to simple but cute, on a cold rainy day!

Happy Thanksgiving!

School Has Started!

How did this happen?!
Say it isn't so!
My baby is officially in school (sob)
Around here this year we have half day kindergarten, which for me is ok!
It just means i get to spend more time with her before she goes to school 'full time' next year.
I do have the peace of mind though that she has an AMAZING teacher that Loves her so much and only ever has good things to say about her!
(yep proud momma moments)
She's learned so much already, has made friends and overall loves school so much!

As i was going through some pictures i ran across the picture from her  first day of preschool so fun to compare them to now and see the difference's of how much she's grown up!

Here's to a good school year!
So far so good!

Simple Summer Things....

Wow, long time no blog!
I guess now that its officially fall,  it's time for me to post a little about summer!
Aside from play dates Hailey did swim and loved it,just as much as last summer, she is for sure a little fish!

Her being the little fish she became this summer, we ended up finding a really good deal on a pool so we set that up this summer, and she was in heaven! She could of stayed in that pool ALL DAY LONG! it was also fun to have the neighbor girls join us once and awhile too!

Some days we just hung around the house blew bubbles,
rode the 4 wheeler
chalked up the sidewalk
took care of her garden
made yummy treats
you know the usual stuff!

Daddy brought her home a remote control car one day
(apparently he found a smashing deal)
She took to it right away and became very good with it.

We made it to some new parks this summer, this one in particular was one of my favorites, nice and shady from the summer 'heat'
I was so proud of her for finally being able to go across the monkey bars!

Of course we made it to the beach this year, unfortunately we came at low tide :( and our boat went back just as the tide was coming in.
Oh, well i know for next time!

This year we found out about Lowe's build and grow and we try to go to as many as possible,it's so fun to see her building!
We also like to go to the craft days at Michael's on Saturday if we're in the area.

And last but not least, Hailey filled her piggy bank to the brim for Disneyland, so as promised Before school started we made a trip down to Disneyland (that will be a post for another day)
I had a lot of fun making this countdown i found on pinterest.

There you got it, summer in a nutshell!
Hoping to have some fun crafts up soon!
(i know,i say that every time! but for reals!)

A Day At The Lake

Soooo
I'm going to pick up where i left off.
After a morning of strawberry picking
We headed to one of our favorite parks in Seattle.
When the sun shines in Seattle you drink it up!
So at this park they have a nice
wading pool for kids to play in, and I'm telling you
if Hailey gets an opportunity to splash around in water she will!

After splashing around we went and checked out a peddle boat or is it paddle boat?
I'm going to go with peddle boat because peddling is what we're doing!
We'd never done it before so it was a first for all of us.
Not going to lie, it was hard work but it was totally worth it!
I think we were out there for almost an hour.

After we wore out are legs we went over to the playground to wear them out some more!
haha!
And then we ended that amazing afternoon with a drive in dinner.
one of my favorite places.
(it kind of makes up for In-N-Out, just a little)

After that we headed home.
It's pretty rare for her (now being a big 5 year old) to take a nap.
But after that much fun in the sun i think it was needed!

Picking Strawberries

Another thing on our Summer Fun list was to pick strawberries.
I don't know why but I've always wanted to do this.
Wish granted.
We went early on a Saturday morning to pick.
Seriously
picture perfect day.
(in my opinion)

Let the picking begin!

The strawberries were perfect!
I'm so glad we went when we did because an hour after we left they closed the fields because they had been picked clean!

Busy picking!
She did such a great job.

I brought home about 5lb
(not enough)
There's something about going and picking your own strawberries i don't know if it was because they were organic but these strawberries were THE BEST I've EVER had!
Strawberry picking is DEFINITELY  going to be a yearly 'tradition'

Easy Summer Treat

Hello All!
Happy Summer!
I'm so glad that summer is finally here!
(although it needs to warm up already in WA)

What better way to kick off summer than with something cool and sweet?
We made these with what i had on hand, and it was quick and easy!
Hailey had so much fun helping, she has Always loved to help in the kitchen!

Here's What I Used:
2 Cups strawberries
1 Banana
2 tbsp Sugar
3/4 Cup Yogurt

Oh, and also an ice cube tray and tooth picks

After measuring everything out, dump it all in the blender.
As you can tell this is her Favorite part!

Then blend.
Also, cover your ears this Ninja is LOUD!

After blending I poured into the ice cube tray and put it into the freezer for 1 1/2 hours

Then we stuck the toothpicks in it.

And put them back into the freezer for 4 hours

Then enjoy!
What are YOU doing to stay cool this summer?
